Post-Surgical Concerns:

It is "normal" for pets to feel a bit sleepy, low energy and have a reduced appetite immediately after surgery.  Vomiting and extreme lethargy or more concerning symptoms, however, and need to be addressed.  If your pet had surgery here at Porter Pet Hospital and has you concerned, please refer to information and guidance on your "Release Instructions" handout or refer to the "What If....After Surgery" page, both in our hand out section or click below. If our office is closed, you can text the a doctor or technician at 440-570-9423 (no voicemails) and should be contacted within 24 hours. If you need immediate assistance please call an emergency clinic listed below.

  There are times when inducing vomiting in your pet is vital to prevent    
  further absorption of medications or toxins they have ingested.   
  Sometimes it is life threatening to bring up substances and it can just     
  cause further harm to your pet.  Call our office during normal business 
  hours for assistance or after hours call an emergency clinic or the above 
  hotline to get further instruction.  It can save money, heartache and 
  possibly your pets life if you address ingestions immediately.

This Hotline is another option for help and you can call:            888-426-4435
$65 consultation fee but they are a great resource!
