To have an ultrasound performed, pets will need to be shaved either on their abdomen or on both sides of their chest under their elbows depending on which cavity we are evaluating. Most pets do not need to be sedated but very large dogs, panting dogs and fractious cats may need something to allow a full evaluation.
Once your pet is shaved we can then apply a gel to their skin and start the evaluation:
